Thermoplastic composite panels are lightweight and high-strength composite materials, which are manufactured from CFRT (continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic) sheets and core materials through a thermal lamination process. It has more advantages than sandwich panels produced using adhesives:

  • Lightweight and high strength.
  • Not easy to delaminate.
  • More resilient.
  • More environmentally friendly.
  • Production costs are lower.

Processing Methods of Thermoplastic Composite

Thermoplastic composite panels are processed without adhesives. Thermoplastics remain solid at room temperature, however, when heated, the crystals dissolve and the material becomes fluid. Using this principle, the CFRT sheet and core material are heated to melt and fuse them together, and then harden after cooling. This is a very efficient and reliable way of production.

Types of Thermoplastic Composite Panels

As the development of thermoplastic composite technology becomes more and more perfect, TOPOLO continues to improve and develop thermoplastic composite panel products to meet the market’s demand for lightweight development.

Thermoplastic Composite Panels

Polypropylene Honeycomb Core Composite Panels

  • Skin Material: CFRT sheet.
  • Core Material: PP (Polypropylene) honeycomb core.

PET Foam Core Composite Panels

  • Skin Material: CFRT sheet.
  • Core Material: PET (polyethylene terephthalate) foam.

Applications

  • Box Bodies: It is widely used in RV bodies, flight cases, and dry cargo truck bodies.
  • Flooring: It can be used as a subfloor for trucks, yachts, airplanes, RVs, mobile homes, farms, public transportation, mobile stages, and more.
  • Interior Buildings: It can be used as wall panels, ceilings, partitions, door panels, etc. for interior buildings.
  • Furniture: It can replace wood and metal materials for furniture construction such as bookshelves, desktops, bed boards, cabinets, etc.
  • Sports Products: Thermoplastic composite sandwich panels can reduce the weight and increase the strength of sports equipment. Such as pickle paddles, basketball backboards, etc.
