Fiberglass plywood typically refers to a type of plywood that has a fiberglass overlay or reinforcement. This combination provides additional strength, durability, and resistance to moisture and weathering. It’s commonly used in applications where these properties are beneficial, such as in truck bodies, trailers, boats, and various construction projects requiring a robust and weather-resistant material.
New Fiberglass Plywood Panels
The surface material of traditional fiberglass plywood is thermosetting FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic). It can improve the waterproof, moisture-proof and fire-proof properties of plywood and greatly increase its strength. The surface material of fiberglass plywood developed by TOPOLO is a CFRT (continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic), which is a new type of FRP material made of thermoplastic matrix resin and continuous fiber. It not only retains these advantages of FRP facing plywood, but also makes up for its inherent defects.
The advantages of CFRT replacing FRP are:
- Thinner and lighter: Its density is lower than FRP, and the thickness of CFRT with the same strength is less than half of FRP.
