- Good Toughness: Continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic(CFRT) is composed of 2 or more layers of UD tapes tightly combined. It has excellent toughness and can withstand large bending deformation.
- Good Heat Resistance: With the addition of continuous glass fiber, it has better high temperature resistance than ordinary plastics and thermosetting composite materials. It can withstand extreme environments up to 300℃.
- High-intensity: The density of CFRT is 1.1~1.6 g/cm3, which is only 1/5~1/7 of steel, and has outstanding specific strength. It can withstand stronger impacts than equivalent amounts of metal and thermoseting composites.
- Lightweight: While having excellent high strength, continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic can also maintain its own lightweight, which is 35% lighter than fiberglass reinforced plastics(FRP).
- Anti-corrosion: There is a protective film on its surface that can effectively isolate water and common chemicals. This also makes the surfaces of products made with continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic easier to clean.
- Scratch-proof: The tightly bonded UD tapes form a solid structure, and general impacts and scratches will not leave marks on its surface.
- Easy to Process: Unlike thermosetting composite materials, continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic products use a hot-melt process and do not require glue.
- Long-lasting: Continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic has durability and a service life of at least 30 years.
- Reshapable: This product can be reprocessed and recycled. It is very beneficial to protect the environment and saving costs, which is a model of sustainable development in composite materials.
